The Indianapolis Colts surprised the NFL nation a few days ago with a hiring by Philip Rivers to fill in for their injured quarterbacks. The Colts’ No. 1 quarterback by Daniel Jones the season ended with an Achilles injury.
Rivers, 44, is a father of ten and also a grandfather. The last time he played at the NFL level was 1,800 days ago, in the 2020 season.
Rivers was released over the weekend. He threw a touchdown and passed the ball with 66.7 percent accuracy, but the Colts fell to the Seattle Seahawks in a bitter 16-18 loss.
– I am grateful that I was involved again, but of course the atmosphere is now disappointed, Rivers commented according to AP.
– This is not about me. As a team, we are fighting like crazy to stay alive and make the playoffs.
The Colts started the season by winning seven of their first eight games, but it’s tough now. The losing streak has already stretched to four matches, and the playoff spot that seemed almost certain is about to slip away.
The Colts still face the San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans in the regular season.
The NFL playoffs begin on January 10th. The season culminates in the Super Bowl on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium.
