The level of collective immunity to coronavirus has decreased in 12 regions of Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said at a meeting of the President with members of the government. The broadcast was hosted by the Russia 24 TV channel.

“Unfortunately, during the New Year holidays in 12 regions of the country, the indicator of herd immunity has decreased,” said Golikova.

According to her, the decrease in herd immunity is due to the fact that people who had been ill or vaccinated more than six months ago did not receive a second vaccination.

A complex and “practically unchanging” situation with collective immunity is observed in Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, Kamchatka and Stavropol territories, Golikova said. By data operational headquarters, in these regions the indicator of collective immunity does not exceed 50%.
