Glatzel’s goals form the framework: home win against Sandhausen – HSV stays second

Status: 11/12/2022 3:51 p.m

Hamburger SV scored four goals against SV Sandhausen in the 2nd Bundesliga, but had to tremble for victory. The decision was only made in the final phase.

Hamburger SV won 4-2 (1-0) against SV Sandhausen on Saturday (11/12/2022). Goalscorer Robert Glatzel gave HSV the lead in the 27th minute, just before the end he scored again (80′). In addition, HSV scored Ludovit Reis (56th) and Sandhausen’s Aleksandr Zhirov scored an own goal (74th). Cebio Soukou (49th) and Christian Kinsombi (68th) scored the goals for Sandhausen.

After the fifth home win of the season, Hamburger SV is second in the table with 34 points. The sandhouses won’t have quite as much fun looking at the table. They only have 16 points after 17 games, making relegation rank 16.

The lead for HSV fell after half an hour when Jean-Luc Dompé found Glatzel with a pass into the penalty area. Glatzel played around Sandhausen goalkeeper Nikolai Rehnen and pushed in, it was his tenth goal of the season.

HSV negligent after leadership

After taking the lead, HSV dominated the game, but wasn’t precise enough in front of the goal. The team should have gone into the half-time break with a clearer lead. Instead, the surprising equalizer came at the beginning of the second half. Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer let Sandhausen’s Soukou trick the ball away, goalkeeper Heuer Fernandes had no chance to defend himself in the subsequent shot.

The second goal of the SVS arose from a blatant defensive error. Miro Muheim played a back pass, but it was far too short and didn’t reach Heuer Fernandes. Christian Kinsombi was suddenly free in front of the goal and thoughtfully finished.

Glatzel asks to dance

The fact that HSV’s eleventh win of the season turned out to be something was due to a mixture of Hamburg’s individual class and sand houses, who acted unhappily. Like defender Zhirov, who hit the corner with a header from ten meters – just in his own goal.

Previously, Hamburg’s Reis had hit his head in the right goal after a corner. Glatzel then set the final point again. After a long ball from Laszlo Benes, he appeared free in front of goalkeeper Rehnen, the rest was such a goalscoring thing: a wobble and Rehnen was danced out, and Glatzel pushed the ball into the empty goal.
