Gladbach | Hütter in crisis mode

Coach Adi Hütter from Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach finally switched to crisis mode after the cup embarrassment at Hannover 96.

“It’s the most difficult situation in my 13-year job,” said Hütter before the game against Union Berlin on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky).

The five-time German champions have lost six of their last eight competitive games. “We have to do everything we can to get things back in the right direction. I don’t know any coach who hasn’t already had crises. That’s part of our business,” said Hütter and called for an “appropriate reaction”.

The Austrian is not afraid for his job. “I feel a lot of trust within the club,” emphasized the 51-year-old. But Hütter also knows “that we have to get out of this situation as quickly as possible”.

Jonas Hofmann should help against Union. The international had been sidelined since mid-December due to an arthroscopic knee operation. “He’s a glimmer of hope in our situation,” said Hütter: “We’re still deciding whether he’ll play from the start or only come in the game.”

The sick Christoph Kramer, on the other hand, will be out again. Jordan Beyer is also not available.
