Geiger is optimistic about the team competition

Zhangjiakou (dpa) – After his Olympic bronze medal in the competition on the large hill, ski jumper Karl Geiger is confident about the team jumping.

“I think the ambitions can rise again,” said the 29-year-old at a press conference by the German team in Zhangjiakou, China. “Our confidence has increased enormously in the last few days. Every day we have developed a bit as a team.” Geiger finished third on Saturday after having failed almost at all in the Winter Games.

“Now I can stand up with a big chest and say: If I jump like this, I’ll help the team,” said the man from Oberstdorf. “We’ll give everything and we’ll try to make it difficult for the others – and we’ve got what it takes.”
