Futurama is entering its eleventh season after a ten-year break

The new episodes will be available on Disney+ starting July 24th.

After a long wait, “Futurama” fans can now see the sequel to the cult series on Disney +.

Ten years ago, the final season of the weirdo sci-fi series aired about the pizza delivery boy Fry, who was accidentally cryogenically frozen in 1999 and wakes up 1000 years later in the future. For ten seasons we were able to accompany the protagonist on his dubious adventures through the year 2999 alongside the robot Bender and the alien Leela.

In 2013, the last episode flickered across the screens of the US TV channel Comedy Central. In Germany, the episodes of the popular animated series were mostly shown at weekends on the television channel Pro Sieben. On September 4, 2013, the last episode was broadcast in Germany for the time being.

At the time, Comedy Central announced that there would be no more seasons of Futurama. The good news came in 2022. On February 9, the streaming provider Hulu announced that it would produce another season. The release was announced for the US on Hulu and for Germany on Disney+.

And now the day has come: the first episodes of the eleventh season have been available on Disney+ since July 24th. The new season of the series by “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening will consist of ten episodes and will be set in well-known New New York, where the characters will have to face new challenges such as the corona epidemic and cryptocurrencies.
