Ukraine has qualified for a U21 European Championship for the third time.
The 2006 finalists won the second leg of the play-off against Slovakia 3-0 (0-0) and turned the first leg 2-3 to complete the field for the 2023 finals. All three goals in Bielsko-Biala, Poland, where the game was played because of the war, were scored by former Rostock player Danylo Sikan (48’/54’/66′).
Israel, Croatia and the Czech Republic also prevailed on Tuesday and bought the last tickets for the European Championships in Romania and Georgia (June 21 to July 8).
Defending champions Germany easily prevailed as group winners in qualifying.
At the European Championship, the three remaining European starting places for the 2024 Olympic football tournament in Paris will also be played, host France is automatically qualified. –
