The Füchse Berlin have to do without national player Fabian Wiede. The left-hander suffered a bone avulsion and a fracture to his right ankle in the duel at HBW Balingen-Weilstetten on Friday evening.

An operation on the injury is unavoidable, which Prof. Dr. Markus Walther, chief physician in the specialist center for foot and ankle surgery at the Schön Klinik Munich Harlaching, will carry out the procedure as soon as the swelling in the foot has gone down.

Managing director Bob Hanning: “Fabian Wiede’s injury hurts us a lot. Now we have to explore the market and see if there is anyone who can help us. Alternatively, we are also looking in our area at Füchse Berlin II and 1. VfL Potsdam.”
