Four-year-old Rafael proudly shows how he can finally walk normally. Rafael was born with a rare condition in his calf and foot. At the beginning of this year, VTM NIEUWS and HLN organized a crowdfunding for the boy. With the support of all of Flanders, 80,000 euros was collected for his operation. Rafael was operated on by an American doctor, because the doctors here in Belgium could not guarantee that the operation would be successful. “Without your help and Rafael’s piece in the news, we would never have been able to raise that amount,” says papa Filip.
