Kylian Mbappé gave a blackout to his first red card as a professional from Real Madrid – the punishment is extremely mild.
Mbappé will only lack a league game after his dismissal. This was announced by the disciplinary committee of the Spanish Association RFEF. Mbappé only misses the upcoming encounter against Athletic Bilbao, but not, as initially, the cup final against FC Barcelona on April 26th.
Mbappé saw the red card in the 1-0 win of Real at Deportivo Alavés after video evidence in the 38th minute. The offensive player came too late in a duel with the Spaniard Antonio and caught his opponent with a massive kick below the knee.
Mbappé Gelb initially received, but according to video evidence there was the red card for the offensive player (38th). Antonio was able to continue playing.
Incidentally, the lock has no effect on the Champions League.
