6th country in professional career
After two and a half years, Michael Frey is finally leaving the Belgian champions Royal Antwerp. The center forward, who was on loan at Schalke 04 in the second half of the season, is moving on to England to join Queens Park Rangers. For the 29-year-old, this is his sixth country in which he is active. The Swiss played by far the most games for his youth club BSC Young Boys with 133 appearances (37 goals, 20 assists).
“I’m very, very happy to be here,” said Frey. “QPR is a big club with a big history, a beautiful stadium and great fans. It’s a big deal for Swiss players to play in Great Britain, so I was very happy when I first heard about QPR’s interest.” In addition to the attacker, his compatriot Christian Fassnacht (30; Norwich) is also currently playing in the Championship .
