André Hahn was last on the pitch in October 2022, and he has been officially without a club since last summer – there will be no further stop for the 250-time Bundesliga professional and one-time national player. The 33-year-old winger confirmed in the “Cuxhavener Nachrichten” that he had ended his career due to injury. A good year and a half ago he suffered cartilage damage.

Hahn, who was born in Otterndorf in 1990, played most of his games for FC Augsburg (171/36 goals). The Fuggerstadt team brought him to the Bundesliga in January 2013 from the then third division club Kickers Offenbach. Hahn became a short-term national player at FCA in 2014 when national coach Joachim Löw nominated him for the friendly games against Chile in March (1-0) and Poland in May (0-0) before winning the World Cup. He was allowed to make his debut at the latter.

In the summer of 2014, Hahn moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach for 2.25 million euros, for whom he appeared 93 times in three years. In February 2015, he reached the highest market value of his career with 8 million euros. In 2017, Hamburger SV, where Hahn played in his youth, paid 6 million euros for the attacker’s services. Like many of the Rothosen at the time, the transfer remained a misunderstanding. After a year in the Hanseatic city, Hahn returned to Augsburg for 3 million euros, where he was under contract until 2023.
