Foreign Ministry opened a hotline to help Russians in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation recommended that Russians in Kazakhstan observe increased security measures, and also opened a hotline to help compatriots. This is stated in the telegram channel of the Department of the Situational Crisis Center (DSKTs) of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“We strongly recommend that all Russian citizens observe increased personal security measures, show restraint,” the DSKTS said.

The Russians were urged to avoid places where demonstrations and riots are possible. If possible, you should take refuge in homes or hotels, stock up on food and essential goods.

For support, Russian citizens can contact DSKTS by e-mail [email protected] or by phone +7 (495) 695-45-45.

The Foreign Ministry notes that the Kazakh authorities are taking measures to stabilize the situation, but in a number of cities the situation remains tense.

Street protests related to the rise in gas prices in Kazakhstan, escalated into riots, pogroms and clashes with law enforcement officers… Riots are observed in different cities, the streets are no longer protesting citizens, but armed gangs and marauders… The security forces used armored vehicles to free the city center from the radicals.
