HSV throws everything forward – in vain
Time passed. Hamburg didn’t get their next major chance until the 80th minute when Vagnoman came on as a substitute, but Suat Serdar blocked Hamburg’s shot attempt.

But despite the support of the home fans and six minutes of stoppage time, Berlin made no more mistakes and in the end made the league perfect. Only Tousart was sent off shortly before the final whistle for unsportsmanlike behavior with yellow-red. “It hurts. We imagined it differently”said HSV captain Sebastian Schonlau on Sky.
Magath: “Rescue project is over”
Coach Magath, according to his own statements “knew”that Hertha has to compete in the relegation, meet his old love HSV there, but would prevail in the end, leaves the club after this game – and once again lived up to his name as a “fireman”. Magath also explained after the game: “The project is already finished. My task was to stay up in the league. That was the case with the final whistle.” Sporting director Fredi Bobic has announced talks with Magath – but without promising that the 68-year-old will be re-signed.
Boateng sets up the team
After the game, Prince Boateng said on sky that Magath had asked him where he wanted to play and with whom he wanted to play: “I set up the team together with the coach.” Magath confirmed this: “I didn’t know if he had the strength to play in the first leg and then again today. Today was the final so it was important for me that he was there. He provided the team.”
