For Ingolstadt it was defeat number 20, the club remains bottom of the table and has already been relegated to the 3rd division.
Kittel wakes up the HSV
In Ingolstadt, the favored HSV initially struggled and then had to thank goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes, who saved a shot from Stefan Kutschke and thus prevented a deficit (17th).
The lead for Hamburg fell ten minutes later, made possible by Kittel, who later scored the goal. Kittel was already in the penalty area when he crossed the ball with his heel. Anssi Suhonen missed, but the rebound landed again at Kittel, who headed in from a few meters.
The goal was like a wake-up call, from then on Hamburger SV played like the team they are in the table: one for which promotion at the end of the season is still at stake. It wasn’t even 120 seconds before the guests were allowed to cheer again. Miro Muheim crossed from the left, defender Sebastian Schonlau completed with a header.
Glatzel takes care of the preliminary decision
When Glatzel headed in after a Kittel cross in the 57th minute, it was tantamount to a preliminary decision. For Glatzel it was the 19th goal of the season.
Once there was still jubilation in the Hamburg block: It was the 81st minute when the substitute Kaufmann scored after a counterattack to make it 4-0. It was the first goal in the second division for the Dane, who HSV had loaned from FC Copenhagen for the season. He came into play a quarter of an hour earlier for Glatzel – so the circle closes.
