Due to her health situation, Florence Welch had to cancel two festivals over the weekend of August 26-27. The reason for this was a life-saving emergency operation, as the musician announced in an Instagram post. Welch didn’t “feel strong enough yet” to share more specific information about her condition. Now she has appeared live on stage for the first time.

At the MEO Kalorama Festival in Lisbon, Florence + The Machine presented itself as special guest of the indie singer Ethel Cain. Together they performed “Thoroughfare,” a song from Cain’s 2022 album PREACHER’S DAUGHTER. And for her own festival performance, on the weekend of August 31st to September 2nd, Ethel Cain came on stage to the song “Morning Elvis”.

In 2022, the two sang the song, which can be heard on Florence + The Machine’s current record DANCE FEVER, at the Denver Ball Arena and then released the piece as a live version.
