According to the news of the Italian ANSA agency, at the meeting, Serie A Management decided that a maximum of 5 thousand spectators will be taken to the stadiums in the 22nd week matches to be played on 16 January and the 23rd week on 23 January.
During this period, it was also stated that no spectators will be allowed in the away tribune.
In the 21st week of the league, which will be played tomorrow, and in the Italian Super Cup Final on January 12, it was recorded that the matches will be held with the audience at 50 percent of the stadium capacity.
It was stated that this decision came after Prime Minister Mario Draghi called the President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) Gabriele Gravina yesterday to request that the league be suspended for a while to prevent the spread due to the increase in cases or that the competitions should be evaluated without spectators.
The increase in Covid-19 cases across the country and in Serie A teams in recent weeks has begun to affect the league as well.
Finally, the Bologna-Inter, Atalanta-Torino, Salernitana-Venezia and Fiorentina-Udinese matches, which were supposed to be held on Thursday, January 6, in the 20th week of the league, could not be played due to the local health authorities not allowing them to play the match, citing the high number of Covid-19 cases in the teams.
