Five people left to work at the Russian Consulate General in New York

For the first time in history, only five people work at the Russian Consulate General in New York. Due to US policy, in January the number of employees was reduced by more than half, said “RIA News” Consul General Sergei Ovsyannikov.

“We really have four employees (not counting the consul. – RBC). Five families left at the end of January. There are exactly four people left,” he said.

The White House described a “window of opportunity” for Russia with war and diplomacy

Ovsyannikov noted that 12 diplomats used to work at the consulate. He added that for the first time in the consulate general there is no security officer, which is a “blatant fact”.
