First door student made robot travels that year to day: ‘We’ve given everything’

When everything goes haywire according to the plan, Iris says that it’s not all the first Americas onbemande maanrover that op de maan rondrijdt, maar also de first the door students will be built. “We have given everything. Now it’s a robot,” says Raewyn Duvall, a student at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).

The robot, which isn’t much bigger than that and doesn’t weigh 2 kilograms, will be built on a long-term basis on a maanland Peregrine Lunar Lander, clear for the middle of 2022. If the terrain and the red formats of the maan te order, Iris is fitted with cameras .

Competent team

During the last three years, more than 200 students have been working on the Maanrover. Iris works on batteries in zal 72 uur on het maanoppervlak blijven.

“Maar het Iris-Team is meant to be inspiring and competent, knowing and toegewijd.”

Zodra Iris op het maanoppervlak lands, zullen operators van op aarde commando’s kunnen sturen naar de robot. Everything follows via the built-in camera.

Vijfde onbemande maanrobot

In total there are only four other verkenningsvoertuigen ooit de maan verkend – two Lunokhods which in de jaren 70 door de Sovjet-Unie are launched and de Yutu-robots which het afgelopen decennium door China are gestuurd.

It is warned that this is a project that is coming to you only if you have private interest in the city.
