Around 1 am the report about the fire arrived at the fire brigade. From the roof of the fish shop, the smoke and flames of the fire could already be seen. Twelve homes had to be evacuated due to the smoke. The residents were temporarily taken care of somewhere, while the fire brigade went to work to extinguish the fire.
But before the extinguishing work could start, the fire brigade first had to get to the fish shop. The shutters of the case were closed and therefore the firefighters could not reach the core of the fire. A hole was made in the roller shutter with a grinder, another wall was also demolished so that the fire brigade could enter the building and the fire could be extinguished.
After the doors were forced, the fire brigade quickly got the fire under control. Eventually the residents of the evacuated homes were allowed back home around 3 am. There were no injuries, but the fish shop suffered a lot of damage. The adjacent barber shop has also suffered water damage.
