Two cars burned out on the Rhonepad in Assen last night. The vehicles were parked in a parking lot next to a house.
The fire damaged a garage and a taxi parked there was also damaged.
The fire was discovered just before 4 a.m. this morning. The fire service quickly brought the flames under control. The cause of the fire is unknown, but arson has not been ruled out.
Series of fires
There have been several arson attacks in Assen in recent months, including at cars and scooters. Two weeks ago, for example, it was still close to the Smetanalaan. Two cars went up in flames there as well.
