At the World Cup in Engelberg, the ski jumpers completed their dress rehearsal for the Four Hills Tournament. A German starter surprised.

Felix Hoffmann and Philipp Raimund underlined their role as co-favorites at the dress rehearsal for the Four Hills Tournament. On Sunday in Engelberg, Hoffmann flew onto the podium in third place, just like the day before, with Raimund following in fourth place. First place went to the Japanese Ryōyū Kobayashi, who ended the winning streak of world champion Domen Prevc.

Hoffmann had already recorded the best result of his career in second place on Saturday, and 24 hours later he shone again. As on Saturday, Raimund came fourth in difficult wind conditions. After the first round he was still tied with Prevc at the top.

Many jumpers had to struggle with the constantly changing wind. “It was turbulent today,” said national coach Stefan Horngacher on ZDF: “But at the end of the day the best jumpers are always in front – and thank God we are currently one of them.”

However, there was once again a big gap behind the top German duo in the absence of the out-of-form veterans Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger. Pius Paschke, who was 15th the day before, missed the second round in 36th place. At least Luca Roth achieved this on Sunday (54th/28th). World Cup debutant Ben Bayer (38th/54th) remained without points.

A short Christmas break awaits Raimund, Hoffmann and Co. before the tour begins immediately after the holidays. Then Wellinger and Geiger will also be there again. “We are training and preparing them for it. They will definitely take part in the Four Hills Tournament,” said national coach Horngacher.
