FC Eindhoven heads for subtop, Helmond Sport bows head in final phase

FC Eindhoven is fighting its way to the second top of the Kitchen Champion Division. On Monday, it put Excelsior aside with 4-1. Helmond Sport made up for a deficit twice on a visit to Jong FC Utrecht, but still lost: 3-2. Jong PSV went into the boat with the second team of Ajax with 2-0.

FC Eindhoven – Excelsior: 4-1 (3-1).
Within thirteen minutes FC Eindhoven already had opponent Excelsior on the back, thanks to three goals from successively Joey Sleegers, Charles-Andreas Brym and Valentino Vermeulen. “What is happening here?”, the twitter account of the people of Eindhoven rightly wondered.

Not much later, Marouan Azarkan unexpectedly made it 3-1, after which the pace dropped a bit. After the break, the team from Rotterdam went looking for the connecting goal. But in the 87th minute it suffered the final knockout. Again Sleegers was the lucky one. He has scored 12 goals this season and provided 10 assists. FC Eindhoven climbs to place 5 due to the impressive victory.

Young FC Utrecht – Helmond Sport: 3-2 (1-1).
Helmond Sport in Utrecht came back from behind twice, but in the final phase the football players had to bow their heads for Jong FC Utrecht. Thomas van Beekman and Jelle Goselink always scored the equalizer. Goals by Mees Rijk, Robert Shein and Ayman Sellouf, however, killed the Helmonders. After this, according to the club, ‘unnecessary defeat’, the Helmonders see themselves back in 19th place.

Young Ajax – Young PSV: 2-0 (0-0).
After the PSV first team had to bow to Ajax two weeks ago, the youngsters from Eindhoven had to do exactly the same. It was 2-0 against Young Ajax. In the first half, the team from Brabant had great opportunities, including a ball hit the post. But Jong PSV was unable to cash in. In the second company, Jong Ajax came into play better and made it 1-0 via a penalty, used by Naxi Ünüvar. Far into the extra time, the Ajax players got another knock. This time it was Sontje Hansen who shot it. Young PSV is now in 9th place.

Remarkable was the failure of referee Michael Eijgelsheim from Oirschot. Two years ago, he made his debut in professional football, just as a substitute for Kevin Blom, who was injured at the time. Now he had to hand over the whistle to the fourth official due to an injury.
