The Blaugrana coach will extend his relationship with Barça from 2025 to 2026 with one condition

The Egarense and his staff have this season and the next to earn continuity on the bench

The renewal of Xavi Hernández as coach of FC Barcelona will be a fact in the next few hours. The agreement between the Catalan coach and the Barça team has been complete in recent days and now only one signature is pending which, unless the agenda changes, will take place this Friday.

Xavi Hernández’s contract, therefore, will be extended until June 30, 2025. The initial idea was to sign until 2026, although finally the one from Terrassa will extend one more season. In recent days, the details that remain to be defined have been polished and the necessary documentation has been drawn up.

Now, as ‘El Periódico’ points out, there is a clause in the Blaugrana coach’s contract that would allow him to extend his contractual relationship for another year: from 2025 to 2026. To do so, it will be executed automatically if Barça wins the League or the Champions from this moment on.

If this season ended without titles, Xavi and his staff would have a second opportunity to expand the club’s record the following year and sign for one more year.

In a month and a half it will be the second year since Xavi took over the reins of the first team, after the dismissal of Ronald Koeman as coach. Since then, the coach has won two titles in his second season: the Spanish Super Cup and the League.
