Brazil defender Wesley is out of the World Cup with a muscle injury. National coach Ancelotti nominates a player who is about to change clubs.
The World Cup begins with bad news for Brazil: defender Wesley was injured in the last friendly before the tournament and will be out of the finals. National coach Carlo Ancelotti has already nominated a successor.
The 22-year-old AS Roma defender had to leave the field in the 17th minute of the 2-1 friendly win against Egypt. An MRI scan revealed a muscle injury in the left thigh. Wesley was considered an undisputed regular at right-back for the Seleção.
Ancelotti has nominated midfielder Ederson as his successor. The 26-year-old is about to move from Atalanta Bergamo to Manchester United for 45 million euros. Brazil starts the tournament on the night of June 13th to June 14th against Morocco (from midnight in the live ticker on t-online).
