Households in Belgium saved less in the summer months, according to figures from the National Bank. The savings ratio, the share of disposable income that was set aside, fell to 14 percent in the third quarter. That is the lowest level since the end of 2021 (12.3 percent). In the first quarter of 2022, the savings rate was still 17.2 percent and in the second quarter 15.6 percent.
