This is an extra strike day on top of the previous strikes. This has been announced by the CNV trade union. Several strike days had already been announced for this week, in different regions. For the Keolis line, Thursday will now be added.
The strikes are the result of stalled negotiations on the collective labor agreement for regional transport. The trade unions CNV and FNV demand higher wages for employees, but measures must also be taken to reduce the high workload. The collective labor agreement negotiations with the Public Transport Employers Association (VWOV) are currently deadlocked.
“We now see that train drivers are threatening to leave for NS, or have even already left, because of the better working conditions there,” says negotiator Evert Jan van de Mheen of CNV Vakmensen. “That creates an extra high workload for the remaining group. If Keolis wants to keep the drivers here, something will have to be done. We therefore want an extra salary agreement for the group of drivers in the collective labor agreement.”
