The Canadian outdoor outfitter Arc’teryx wants to expand further in the current year. The company, which belongs to the Chinese retail group Anta Sports, announced on Friday that twenty new stores are planned to open in Europe and North America in 2022. The label is thus continuing on its growth path: according to its own statements, it opened 21 new stores in 2021. Arc’teryx currently has 159 brand stores.

In addition to its regular stores, the company also opened its first “ReBird” repair and service center in New York last year. This concept is now to be rolled out further: The plan is to set up “further service centers as the brand expands its ReBird circular initiatives in the coming year,” Arc’teryx announced.

Chief Commercial Officer Delaney Schweitzer highlighted the importance of brick-and-mortar stores to the company: “As each Arc’teryx store opens, we get clarity on what the community is looking for in terms of products, experiences and information,” she said in a statement . “In 2021, we were able to welcome over 37,000 guests to our stores who took part in community events, both virtually and in person.” Topics included running, climbing and circulatory design, according to Schweitzer. “For upcoming new openings, we will continue to take into account consumer insights and suggestions from the community,” she emphasized.
