After Real Madrid, now Virtus Bologna: The basketball players from FC Bayern Munich celebrated their second victory in a row in the Euroleague.
In front of football star Serge Gnabry, the Munich team won at home against the Italian club from Bologna with 86:70 (41:38), thanks to a strong performance by the German European champions led by Andreas Obst.
Obst was the best Munich thrower with 21 points. It was only on Tuesday that coach Gordon Herbert’s team surprisingly defeated Real Madrid. After 8 of 38 matchdays in the league phase, Bayern have four wins and four defeats.
Weak debut from top signing Dinwiddie
When ex-NBA star Spencer Dinwiddie made his debut for Munich, Gnabry and former soccer world champion Mats Hummels saw a balanced first half that was characterized by many interruptions. Bayern went into halftime with a narrow lead of three points.
The guests from Italy initially came out of the break better and converted the deficit into a 51:46 lead. But Obst and Co. were not impressed by Bologna’s strong phase and ultimately achieved a confident victory. Dinwiddie wasn’t a big factor in his first appearance for Bayern with six points.
