The European Union must invest €500 billion in a new generation of nuclear power plants over the next 30 years, said EU Commissioner Thierry Breton for Internal Market and Industry in an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche. According to him, the existing nuclear power plants alone will need 50 billion euros in investment in the coming years.
