The European Union must invest 500 billion euros in new-generation nuclear power plants between now and 2050. This is what European Commissioner for the Internal Market and Industry Thierry Breton says in the French newspaper Journal du Dimanche. “Existing nuclear power plants alone will need 50 billion euros in investment from now until 2030. And 500 billion for the new generation!”
