“Eternal Prisoner" testifies to 20 years of incarceration in Guantanamo Bay: “Every aspect of my existence is being interfered with”

Twenty years ago, the first prisoners were held in Guantanamo, the controversial prison located at a US military base in Cuba. Today there are 39 inmates, including Khalid Qasim. In an op-ed in the British newspaper ‘The Guardian’, he testified about his life in a prison known for torture and human rights violations, and begged President Joe Biden to close the prison.
