Eriksen will stay with Young Ajax for the time being: “This feels like coming home”

Former Ajax player Christian Eriksen is again training with Young Ajax this week. The Danish international will keep his condition up at the Amsterdam club until he has found another club, Ajax reports on its own website.

Eriksen was given the green light by his doctors in December to resume his football career after completing an individual recovery program for months. Eriksen had to terminate his contract with Inter, because it is not allowed in Italy to play football with a defibrillator. Eriksen, like Daley Blind, has had such a heart box since the last European Championship.

Coming home

“At Ajax I know the people, it feels like coming home because I have been here for so long,” said Eriksen, who played 163 matches for Ajax. “All facilities are available here and at Jong Ajax I can train at a high level in a group. That is the perfect basis for me at the moment. I want to touch my top again as soon as possible so that when I get by with a club, I can go there as soon as possible. can stand my ground as soon as possible.”

Eriksen was spotted at Sportpark De Toekomst last week. On Sunday, trainer John Heitinga told NH Sport that Eriksen is a welcome guest at Ajax. Watch the interview with the trainer of Jong Ajax below.
