Eintracht Frankfurt stays in touch with the top

Thanks to national player Nicole Anyomi, the Eintracht Frankfurt footballers remain within striking distance of the top of the Bundesliga table.

Coach Niko Arnautis’ team won 1-0 (1-0) at Werder Bremen on matchday six and is in fifth place with ten points, just one point behind TSG Hoffenheim in third place. Bayern Munich is at the top (14 points). The champions narrowly defeated cup winners VfL Wolfsburg (13) on Sunday.

Offensive player Anyomi, who was injured in the extremely important mandatory victory for the DFB women in Iceland (2-0) on Tuesday, decided the game on Monday evening in the 26th minute when she took the lead in a Frankfurt attack with a remarkable jumper the SGE completed. Bremen suffered their third defeat of the season and are in ninth place with seven points.
