Anyone who enters Gino van Dierdonck’s house will end up in a world that is entirely dominated by Eddy Merckx. “When I get up, I am in the world of Merckx. That makes sense,” says the proud collector.
The walls are full of original jerseys, caps and photos. “Among other things, I have the original Molteni sweater from 1971, and the rainbow jersey of the same year. Everything you see here is authentic,” he says.
Gino has been fascinated by the greatest Belgian cyclist of all time. In the meantime, he has collected hundreds of pieces. “As far as I know, I am the only one in the world with a private museum about Eddy Merckx. And he knows that too. My biggest dream is that he will ever visit here.”
