The announcement by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that Duran Duran had been nominated for a recording made the band enthusiastic, to say the least.
The British new wave formation was announced on Wednesday (February 02) alongside Eminem, Beck, Dolly Parton, Carly Simon, Kate Bush and others.
“What a surprise and honor!” said John Taylor, Duran Duran bassist. “To be nominated by such a highly respected organization is really special in this, our fortieth year. For decades, Duran Duran have been inspired by the incredible support of our wonderful and diverse fanbase around the world. Being inducted into the Hall of Famers is something really special. Let’s hope we make it in!”

Singer Simon Le Bon added, “To be on the nomination list is an honor I never expected… But sure, a big part of this honor is due to the fact that we have an army of fans around the world.” world that has supported us tirelessly over the past four decades. We are very grateful to all of you for making this possible.”
Taylor and Le Bon already know the Hall of Fame from the other side: In 2019 they both introduced Roxy Music with an impassioned speech.
The Rock Hall is voted for by around 1,000 musicians, scientists, journalists and music industry professionals. Fans also have a say. From this week until the end of April HERE or cast a vote during a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, with the fan vote being recorded as one vote, so to speak.
