The Dresdner SC volleyball team suffered their third defeat in the Champions League. On Wednesday evening, in front of 750 spectators and a sold-out arena, the German champions were beaten by the Polish Supercup winner Developres Rzeszow by 0:3 (19:25, 22:25, 24:26).
Dresden misses playoff phase
This means that it is no longer possible for the only Bundesliga club for women in the European premier class to reach the playoff phase. However, the Poles remain undefeated in the fifth group game, which means that they can no longer be deprived of first place and a place in the quarter-finals.
DSC keeps up for a long time
The hosts gave the experienced team from Rzeszow an open exchange of blows in all three sets for a long time. In the decisive phases, however, the Serbian Jelena Blagojevic and the MVP-chosen Kara Bajema from the USA played their great experience. In the end, the guests were also superior in block and field defense. In the third round, DSC even had a set ball (24:23), but the Poles immediately defended it and celebrated the deserved 3:0 victory after 82 minutes.
