The 50-year-old man drove through a red light at an intersection and collided with a passenger car. The driver of that car was injured. After the accident, the man drove on and rammed into several parked cars. In some cases he pushed these vehicles against houses.
After this series of collisions, the truck, several cars and the front of a house caught fire. The fire brigade had to evacuate the residents of this house. Images in German media show a large sea of flames, resulting in several burned-out cars. A police spokesperson tells the newspaper picture that the havoc resembled a ‘battlefield’.
