The first destruction dates from a week ago, says Van der Peet. “Then you still think that it might be random vandalism, but when a video of a burning sign appeared on Tiktok with the song We love Oranje underneath it, it became a little scarier.”
Nieuw-Vennep and Badhoevedorp
By far the most affected signs were in Nieuw-Vennep. “But it also happened in Badhoevedorp,” said Van der Peet. The party hesitated for a few days about addressing the destruction, but has now decided to publicize it. “Because more signs have disappeared in recent days.”
Van der Peet does not dare to say whether the action is specifically aimed at his party. “We were the only party that already had signs up last week,” he says. In total, the count now stands at about twenty missing and destroyed signs, and two burnt-down ones.
