The man was arrested by the investigating judge in Oudenaarde at the beginning of this week for suspected sexual offenses against a minor.
It concerns a 44-year-old man who lives in East Flanders. The teacher allegedly went way too far with a student during a school activity abroad. He is temporarily inactive, pending a suspension.
All parties involved have now been informed and the current state of the investigation does not reveal any larger-scale facts for the time being, the public prosecutor’s office says.
