Tragic fire on Monday night at a farm in Brandenburg! 27 calves were killed.

A huge warehouse of around 2800 square meters in a dairy farm in Steinhöfel (Oder-Spree district), full of straw bales, tractors and machines, caught fire.

Particularly tragic: 27 calves also fell victim to the flames. Luckily, one of them was rescued but was injured.

According to initial information, the property damage could be in six figures. people were not injured. According to the fire department, the flames are now under control.

Wheel loaders are expected at the site in the morning hours to carry the straw bales apart.

The extinguishing work continued in the morning. It is still unclear how the fire started. The police in Brandenburg are investigating.
