Doctors save young dolphin who was cut by a ship’s propeller | Abroad

Biologists, divers and volunteers provided assistance, according to the Greek environmental movement Arion, which works to protect cetaceans. Despite the pouring rain, rescuers will remain nearby in boats for the time being to prevent the dolphin from swimming in the wrong direction and stranding again.

The beaked whale was found on Friday at a beach in the Greek capital with cuts to the head and neck, presumably caused by a ship’s propeller.

The young male was taken to the nearby island of Salamina, to a site with deeper water, for medical treatment. The animal’s condition improved noticeably, today it disappeared under its own power to the Saronic Gulf.
