AZ has hardly got into trouble visiting Tottenham Hotspur. The competition will continue in this phase.
AZ has not yet been able to create great opportunities in London. It has also received nothing against it, so it is still a quiet opening phase.
We are loose in London! AZ is still the only North Holland club in Europe.
It’s ready in Frankfurt. The B-team of Ajax is eliminated gloriously on a painful evening. Kenneth Taylor still scores an honorary goal, but otherwise it is primarily a breach of contract
The Brazilian goalkeeper recovers from such a moment, by making a good save on a shot by Ansgar Knauff. He seems to be injured and that would be bad news for Ajax. Remko Pasveer is already struggling with an injury. Matheus can continue.
All hope for Ajax was shot by Mario Götze. The former PSV player hurts the Amsterdammers again after a large blunder by goalkeeper Matheus.
What a chance for Ajax. A header from Oliver Edvardsen is taken off the line.
Kenneth Taylor scores for Ajax. A spark of hope returns to the Amsterdammers, but they still have to make four.
In the meantime, Jorrel Hato has also entered the team as a replacement for Dies Janse.
Lucas Rosa goes to the side and is being replaced by Anton Gaaei. It will probably make little difference.

Rasmus Kristensen has a flaming shot in the legs, but goalkeeper Matheus (who is allowed to participate after the REMKO Pasveer injury) ticks the ball out of the goal.
It is also quickly 2-0 in Frankfurt. Former PSV player Mario Götze is the maker of the second goal. It is now becoming a very difficult story for Ajax.
Steven Berghuis is completely free and can play. His shot sails over the bar. First sign of Ajax’s life.
Another big chance for Eintracht Frankfurt. The use of Hugo Ekitiké is barely blocked by Ahmetcan Kaplan. Ajax has a hard time in Frankfurt.
Ajax is already going wrong at lightning speed. Jean-Mattéo Bahoya simply finishes the ball and Ajax now has to make at least three goals.
We started in Frankfurt. Can Ajax brush the defeat in the first match?
