He was THE dance talent from East Berlin: first he worked as a choreographer for the casting show “Popstars” in the early 2000s – later he sat on its jury for eleven years. Now Detlef Soost (53) made a video appearance before the Magdeburg regional court.

In a civil case, he sued an acquaintance to whom he had lent an expensive Rolex watch three years ago. Court spokesman Christian Löffler: “The plaintiff purchased the watch used at the end of 2016 for 7,200 euros.” In February 2021, the acquaintance told Soost that the watch had been stolen from him.

However, he will endeavor to get them back or refund the purchase price.

The friend, who now lives in Braunschweig, repeatedly promised: “I’ll pay the money back.” But Soost didn’t see a cent. He filed a lawsuit in March 2023. The court spokesman: “During the trial, the defendant defended himself by saying that he was innocent of the theft of the watch.”

But he couldn’t explain where the watch was. Report theft to the police? FAILURE. The parties involved were connected to the hearing via video transmission. The judges decided: The defendant is liable and must pay Soost 7200 in damages.
