Designated FDP general secretary for black and yellow after the NRW election

DSSELDORF (dpa-AFX) – The designated FDP General Secretary Bijan Djir-Sarai spoke out in favor of continuing the black-yellow government coalition in North Rhine-Westphalia after the state elections in May. “I am convinced by the way in which the coalition in North Rhine-Westphalia between the CDU and the FDP works, and how well it is almost friendly,” said Djir-Sarai of the Dsseldorfer “Rheinische Post” (Saturday). That’s why he wouldn’t mind if the black and yellow government in North Rhine-Westphalia was re-elected. “As a matter of principle, I don’t make concrete coalition statements before state elections,” he continued.

He wants to make his contribution to ensuring that the FDP and CDU are not alienated. “Because we still have the greatest overlap with the CDU. In NRW we have a very successful black-yellow state government. This coalition deserves to be re-elected,” he said.

A continuation is also considered politically difficult because the FDP in the federal government now governs with the SPD and the Greens./tob/DP/mis
