In Moscow, new restrictions may be introduced due to the spread of the omicron strain of coronavirus in the event of an increase in the number of cases of diseases and hospitalizations. About it stated Deputy Mayor of the capital for economic policy and property and land relations Vladimir Efimov on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”.

He clarified that these will be accepted in case of a high load on the health care system.

“We will certainly resort to new restrictions if the need arises. This can only happen in a situation where the capacity of our medical institutions is at the limit, ”he said.

Skvortsova called the proportion of cases “omicron” in Moscow

Earlier, the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova said that in the sample of patients in Moscow, which the FMBA made to study its test system, the proportion of those infected with the omicron strain of coronavirus was more than 76%.
