The last classification cross was won by Denise Betsema. The Texel cyclo-cross rider was the fastest at the University Cross in Brussels. The victory was not enough for the overall victory in the cyclocross trophy, which went to compatriot and competitor Lucinda Brand.
Betsema needed a miracle to win the cyclocross trophy. She got off to a great start and quickly put Brand behind. Betsema then held out and won her first race since October†
“I felt very good from the start and soon saw that I had a gap on Lucinda”, the North Holland driver reacted to sporza† “I played all or nothing, but my legs remained good. Finally I got another win. The lead remained stable and that was good for my morale. It’s nice to be able to win at the end of the season . This victory is very gratifying.”
