For years I have had ladies in my studio who come to make ceramics every week. In the meantime, like myself, they have grown older. Ailments and grandchildren of their own and of their husbands are discussed and they support each other in difficult times.
One of the women has a demanding husband who would rather not have her leave home. Yet she comes every week. She then says to him: “I have to go to daycare again today.”
