Degrading circumstances and violence lead to a hunger strike in ‘Louisiana Lockup’

In the state prison of Louisiana, nineteen prisoners of the ICE Immigration Service went hungry. They protest against the “untenable” circumstances in the detention facility, where they say they are denied crucial medical and mental care, prescribed medication and even basic needs such as toilet paper and clean drinking water.
