Covid: towards the vaccination obligation also for footballers from 1 February

Vaccination obligation or not? It is the day of choices, the Council of Ministers must decide on new measures to counter the spread of the Omicron variant. Here is a series of questions and answers to get a clearer picture of the situation

On the government table there is the possible obligation of a super green pass, the certification that can only be obtained with the vaccine or recovery from Covid in the last six months. What would it mean for football and sport?

The possible scenarios are mainly two. The first: a decision is made on the obligation of a super green pass, probably starting from February 1st, to allow those who have not done so to get vaccinated, for the 23 million workers. The second: the super green pass is not valid for everyone, but for ski resorts, gyms, swimming pools, team and contact sports. And for the foreign teams that come to play the European cups?

In this case the exemption is likely, but it must be written. Same goes for those who have a vaccine that is not validated in Italy (see Sputnik).

Meanwhile, Serie A and Serie B are overwhelmed by infections. But is the federal protocol still the same as when it resumed in June 2020?

No, the rules currently in force provide for an exemption from the periodic cycle of tampons for vaccinated or recovered from Covid (no more than six months). But the emergency leads to everyone being involved in the tests.

The rule of the minimum number of players to take the field or the possibility of a joker to ask for a postponement?

Their role has shrunk. Now the ASL can only intervene in the case of an extended contagion, in short, an outbreak. Close contact quarantine for positives is not provided for those who have had the third or second dose for no more than 120 days. However, there is an obligation of “self-monitoring” and the use of the FFP2 mask.

By the way, FFP2 debuts in all stadiums tomorrow.
